Treat your partner this Valentine’s Day with a relaxing and sensual at-home massage

Valentine’s Day is upon us and it’s time to add the last details to the romantic evening you planned for your partner.
If you’re looking for an intimate way to show your love and affection, why not try giving your partner a relaxing and rejuvenating massage? With a little bit of preparation, you can create a spa-like atmosphere in the comfort of your own home and provide your partner with a memorable and meaningful experience.
In this blog, we’ll show you how to prepare for a great at-home massage and give you some tips on how to give your partner the best massage ever. So, light some candles, pour some wine, and get ready to show your love in a whole new way!
Step 1 – Prepare the environment
Find a quiet and relaxing space, set the mood with some soft lighting and soothing music, and ensure the room is warm enough for comfort.
Place different sized candles across the room, or if you have them on hand, some fairy lights are also great. To make the room feel extra special you can add flowers or even dried rose petals.
Step 2 – Gather supplies
You’ll need massage oil – lotion is okay, but oil is best – and clean towels.
Now we know most couples don’t have easy access to a massage bed, so your own bed will do just fine – but be sure to place those towels over your bedding to avoid possible massage oil stains.
For your massage oil, you can use store-bought or make your own blend of coconut oil / argan oil / or any other carrier oil mixed with a few drops of your favourite essential oils.
Step 3 – Start with a warm-up
Begin by gently rubbing your partner’s back and arms to help them relax and loosen up their muscles.
Step 4 – Use the right technique
Apply pressure with your hands, using your fingers, palms, and thumbs to massage different areas of the body. Pay attention to areas that are tense or sore and focus on them.
Try to get every muscle, especially the ones your partner uses the most in their daily lives, and don’t forget about the hands and the feet.
Step 5 – End with a cool-down
Finish the massage by gently stroking your partner’s back and arms, and encourage them to take deep breaths and relax. You could also wrap them in a warm towel or blanket to help them feel cozy and relaxed.
Pair your cool-down with a nice glass of red wine or some hot chocolate, and enjoy the relaxing evening with your partner.
